A zoomed in pixel-based file is just a mosaic made from millions of colored squares. That’s why photo files are so huge and hard to edit precisely : it’s literally millions of differently colored tiles that our eyes interpret as shapes from afar.

Any change means tearing up or painting over the old mosaic by eye, hoping the new blend of colors looks more true to what you’d like to see. Green screen still sucks, changing resolution is an issue, and AI fails editing every time - because it’s all just a huge guessing game.

By contrast, our source files are a set of actual shapes, with defined properties and relations. Instead of interpreting a huge heap of colors, we write instructions for mathematical curves, exact color values, and readable computer code.
